Sex Differences:

What the Research Says

Biological evidence tells us that men and women are inherently different. These differences account for certain behavioral tendencies in each of the sexes. By knowing these differences, one can better understand his or her dating/marriage partner and will therefore have the tools to develop stronger and happier relationships with the opposite sex.

The objectives of this lesson plan are that the teens will:

  1. Understand some of the biological differences between the two sexes;
  2. Understand how these differences impact individual behavior and relationships;
  3. As a result of this understanding, be better equipped to avoid or resolve conflict with the opposite sex.

Biological differences explained include:

  1. Brain Structure
  2. Eye Structure
  3. Hormones

Differences between men and women affect our relationships and can, unfortunately be a source of conflict. Through a better understanding of the opposite sex, we will be better equipped to resolve or avoid conflicts, and come to an appreciation for the complementarity that the opposite sex provides.
